Nana Patekar would love to romance Rani !

Nana Patekar plans to direct a musical love story in which he would play the lead role.

"I want to cast Rani Mukherjee as the female lead and I will be the protagonist," Patekar told The Times of India in an interview.

"I would love to romance Rani on screen."

Patekar, who has acted in dozens of Hindi and Marathi language movies, has rarely played romantic roles, but insists he can do it.

"I may not look romantic but I feel the same emotions," he said, in the interview.

Also, an actor must always innovate and try new roles, he said. "Predictability is something an actor should always avoid."

Neither Patekar nor Mukherjee could be immediately reached for comment.
